Dynamic, strong growth global company is looking for a Project Cost Accountant/Analyst with a focus on product cost accounting, cost accounting analysis, compiling -analysis- and reporting information as it pertains to the project cost accounting functions. This is a highly visible position that will interact with the corporate, and with the division's strategic leadership. Project focused.
The Project Cost Accountant/Analyst is responsible for analyzing the project's financial performance monthly, preparing financial statements of the project, analysis of the cost accounting function, budget results analysis and developing recommendations on process improvements. You will identify risk and opportunities. Analyzes variances from plan. Provides senior management with cost forecast & projections and performance reporting.
o Analyze the project's profitability.
o Analyze product costs, analyze variances in metrics and results
o Responsible for month end close related to the project and customer's projects.
o Assists with annual budget process
o Assists with journal entries for depreciation, amortization, job cost allocations.
o Performs ad-hoc cost/financial analysis to facilitate strategic and tactical decision-making
o Summarize and report business results to leadership on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
o Maintain a system of Key Performance Indicators and drive business ownership for results
o Ensure the integrity and accuracy of all financial statements and systems
o Consult with Managers on a daily basis to ensure that they understand what costs are hitting their financials.
o Oversee the preparation and review of financial and operational analysis
o Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
o MBA or CPA would be a plus but are not required.
o Prefer 3-5 years of experience in Public Accounting or BIG 4 or energy industry.
o Excellent analytical and quantitative abilities.
o Proven project cost accounting & financial analysis skills
o Strong organizational, prioritization and time management skills
o Great Plains experience is a plus....should be an advanced user of Excel.
o Proven analysis skills in plant accounting performance
