Description:

The junior database analyst is responsible for the development and optimization of databases which will support the products and services developed by the Product Development Team. Optimization of existing and development of new SQL queries and functions. The database analyst will work with the Sr. Database Administrator in, design, development, testing and deploying database projects. Support the Development Staff to ensure that the programmers -’ activities are in line with the goals of the projects. YieldStar places a strong emphasis on client service, so the Database Analyst, while not a frontline customer contact, will interact with customers to ensure that their requirements are met in the most efficient manner.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
 Query design and optimization
 Database schema design
 Database administration
 Provide customer service as needed, responding to requests by clients both internal and external
 Track work flow, ensure that database projects are on target for completion time lines
 Provide input in the planning and design process.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
 Bachelor -’s degree
 SQL query/function design
 2+ years development/database experience (PostgreSQL experience is a plus)
 MS SQL Server knowledge
 Java experience is a bonus
 Comfortable with strict deadlines
 Works well in a team setting
 Can multitask, adapt to shifting priorities
 Detail oriented
 Good work ethic, including sense of individual responsibility
 Comfortable working on new products in a growing company
