I'm a Florida native who attended Ft. Lauderdale High School and then Florida Atlantic University - BA - Double major:Communications and Spanish. Presently, I'm unemployed, but I'm an active contributing writer to trade journals, a quarterly newpaper, and previously wrote freelance for the Sun-Sentinel.
I'm an accomplished Safety, Security, Loss Prevention Professional with demonstrated success in managing multi-site locations throughout the U.S. with Fortune 500 Companies. A proven performer with an entrepreneurial skill set, and a solid track record of creating policies and programs that consistently result in the reduction of OSHA recordable injuries, robberies / theft and substantial cost savings. A versatile, results oriented team player with ability to lead in a cross functional environment.
I am recently separated from Burger King Corporation as a result of a company-wide reduction in force. There I served as a Regional Safety, Security, and Loss Prevention Manager in multi-states.
Though no longer licensed, I held an all lines commercial insurance license for more than 17 years which helped me tremendously with my safety and loss prevention career.
I am looking for a management position in Transportatin Safety or Restaurant Safety/LP that utilizes my vast experience, and rewards results. I prefer to remain in South Florida, but I am open to extensive travel.

Safety and Security: Responsible for conducting risk assessments and job hazard analysis in multi-state region. Designed and implemented safety and security education and training programs for all corporate restaurants. Incorporated and delegated system compliance surveys to not only identify system problems, but to implement programs of change. Initiated proactive measures to encourage safe / secure work practices, accident prevention, and reduction in Workers’ Compensation claim costs;
• Training programs and compliance systems aided in reduction of employee accident frequency by 25%.
• Enforcement of slip resistant shoe program reduced regional slip and fall accidents by 20% - 2010.

Directed Safety and Maintenance Department of FedEx Home Delivery in 21 satellite locations in Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. Managed fleet of more than 500 independent contractor drivers, 3 driver trainers, and ensured regional compliance with Regulatory Agencies (OSHA, DOT, EPA). Provided guidance and supervision to 21 Senior Managers at satellite terminals to ensure proper facility maintenance, and safe work environment. Developed and implemented programs to reduce accidents / injuries and violations associated with non-compliance of Federal Regulations. Managed all aspects of accident / injury reporting, Workers’ Compensation transitional return to work program resulting in lower costs per claim, and quicker return to work. Prepared detail sensitive evaluations and audits resulting in superior scores on internal FedEx audits.
