Senior Product Development and Performance Engineer
More than ten years of product life cycle development and statistical analysis in MR sensor product performance for hard drives, leading core teams with data analysis of mechanical, electrical, nanotechnology, and manufacturing engineering. Responsible for planning, execution, research and development, test, evaluation, and reporting of programs for highly complex disk drive product development. Successfully launching eight consumer and enterprise products to market on schedule, each product generating over $400 million in sales.
• Managed multiple phases of program development to include cost analysis, engineering specifications, design evaluation and verification, production yields, manufacturing process optimizations, and data modeling. Saving over $500,000 per year with cost-trade-off analysis.
• Utilized data analysis to solve highly complex engineering performance problems. Awarded financially from Mechanical Department for finding shift in mechanical performance, saving over $600,000 in cycle time and in scrap costs in 2007.
• Performed root cause analysis on product failures and implemented specification tightening while maintaining optimal cost trade-offs. Saved over $1.2 million in preventing defective product.
• Programmed SAS-JMP multivariate modeling to determine key input variables for achieving target performance, improving development time by an average of 2 months.
